I got inked
Posted on: July 21, 2008 at 2:29 pm (4 months ago)

It was my sixth grade school year. I was sitting in science class not paying attention, as usual. Instead, my friend and I were drawing pictures with my colorful gel pens. I was holding a dark purple pen and sucking on the end of it. Who knows why I was sucking on the pen, but that's not the point. Before I even had time to realize what was happening, the inside of my mouth was covered with dark purple ink.

At that moment, I almost felt like throwing up. I spit some of it on the carpet, and with one hand covering my mouth, I ran to the nearest water fountain. I kept spitting and spitting, rinsing and rinsing. It seemed like the ink was never going to come out of my mouth. It was the most foul tasting of anything that's ever been put in my mouth.

Kids were huddled around the fountain laughing at the fact that my mouth was stained purple. A teacher came up to see what the fuss was about, and even he started snickering at my little incident. He told me to go to the nurse, who said I would be okay since the ink was non-toxic. Even she was amazed at the sight of my purple mouth. My lips, teeth, tongue, and everything was purple. I asked her if my mouth would be purple forever. Fortunately, my mouth returned to normal after a couple of days.

To this day I still remember it clearly. It was, after all, the first time I got inked. ;]

That's a cute story, haha, but it must have been awful when it actually happened.
And at least your mouth wasn't stained black! That would have been worse.
Or red, hah.

that's happened to me. It's humiliating when you're chewing on the pen and the ink is leaking but you don't realise. Which means you just have all this ink on you and you're totally oblivious : ) Bright purple must have been pretty bad…

Aw, that's cute/embarrassing. But it's one of those memories that last you a lifetime.

I thought the same thing as J! Funny story though…

It lasted a couple of days?! That sucks! I didn't think it would last that long. We do such strange things when we are kids…

Hey! I haven't been here in a while. XD

Ahh, that sounds sooo gross! LOL. I've heard that happen to people before, I could imagine how awful the taste could be. A couple of days like that? I wouldn't have gone back to school until it was gone, ha!

Aww :( That must have been so embarrassing at the time. Yuck, ink.

That made me laugh, because I remember it happening to a friend of mine — twice! You'd think she'd learn not to suck on pens anymore, but nooo; almost a year later she did it again :P

Haha too funny! I remember once in high school a girl in my class was chewing on her White-Out and it leaked in her mouth. It was hilarious!

Oddly enough I have done the same thing. But I was sitting in my history class reading a book (I didn't have to do work in that class, I basically just sat there which was awesome. So I was apart of the class … but not really) and I was messing with a pink pen and it ended up all in my mouth. Gah, the worst taste ever! I didn't spaz or react though, I just stayed calmly in my seat and tried to bare the taste heh.

I used to chew on pens all the time. I think the reason I stopped chewing on them was for fear of what happened to you with that purple ink. That sucks. >
