It's not time to turn the clocks back yet!

It's been two days since I have removed my nose piercing. I believe the hole closed within a day after I removed it. I tried putting the stud back in to see if I could, but it wouldn't go in. I still really miss it. It's weird not seeing that shiny stud on my nose anymore. The bump/scab is still on my nose. I hope it goes away soon. It's hideous and I am sick of looking at it. The bump has gone down some, however.

I watched two movies over the weekend. Wicked Little Things and Toolbox Murders. I love horror movies! They were okay. My aunt watched Toolbox Murders with my dad and I and it was funny when she started screaming, haha.

Now let me refer to what the title of this blog is all about. I was just sitting at work typing away. Linda (my supervisor) walks over and says, "Are you enjoying our company?" I did not know what she was talking about. She told me what time it was and said, "Don't you leave at 9:30?" I looked at my computer screen and said, "Yeah, and it's 9:13." Turns out that the clock on the computer changed on me for some reason. It was actually quarter after 10! I thought she was playing a joke on me at first, but she was for real. I know the clock was right when I got there and when I went on break. Sometime while I was there, the computer must have set the clock back an hour and I did not even realize it. Oh well, at least I get paid for my extra hour. I passed my mom on my way home. She was worried and came out looking for me. I apologized, but told her it was not my fault. I still can't believe that happened!

After work, I talked to my boyfriend on the phone. He told me some ignorant things his dad said, like he doesn't need a girlfriend right now and stuff like that. It upset me and I started crying a bit. Wesley told me not to worry about it. I can't help but worry though, you know? He said I just need to spend more time with his family but when they say things like that, it makes me not want to be around them because I feel uncomfortable.

I would feel a little weird being around his family too, after his Dad saying something like that. If Wesley said not to worry though I'd try not to. But I agree, it would have made me upset and cry too. Sometimes Dads say ignorant things. I was reading an article on the whole time change thing. It's confusing a lot of people! I think we should have left the time change alone to begin with, hah.

I don't like scary movies, so I wouldn't have liked those ones you watched! Ick. :\ I hope you get used to not having your nose ring. Who knows, maybe one day you can get it re-pierced or get the other side of your nose done. Like Christine said above, I would feel weird around his dad too. I mean I am sure that his dad was not just talking about you and that he was talking about a girlfriend in general…but hopefully get gets over it realizes, hey, you're not going anywhere! HMPH. :D

I love scary movies only when they are scary. I don't like to watch certain horror flicks because there is always some dumb prick running around acting stupid and eventually getting killed on account of their stupidity. I love classic like Halloween and The Exorcist. Those are great. I might have to check out those two you watched though.

I understand where you are coming from with the whole boyfriend and his family bit. If my boyfriend's mom were to act like that, I would never want to talk to her because she was being a prick. But, eventually you will have to hang out with them to let them know who you are and show off your good traits. Then maybe it wouldn't feel so bad. Just be yourself.

That is good that you were payed for that extra hour! lol. I'd be uncomfortable too if the Dad made a comment like that.

Becky - 10.30.07 @ 2:37 pm (10 months, 1 week ago)

Eek Horror movies! Hate them so much.
Wow, that's a bit freaky! But alteast you got paid for an extra hour :)
That sucks about your boyfriends parents, must make you feel really awkward. Atleast he stuck up for you, you never know it might get better if you give it time? They'll have to get used to eventually anyway lol :P

I would ignore your boyfriend's father. He doesn't seem that nice.

I can't believe you stayed at work that late, LOL. That sucks, but at least you get paid for it!

Urg my last boyfriend's dad was a divorced and bitter and would always tell my boyfriend to go "see what's out there" before settling with me. He even liked me, but he would still insist his son shouldn't be with me without dating around a lot first. It was sort of valid, because he was 16 when we started dating, but at the same time, if you find the person you are meant to be with when you're young, are you supposed to just throw it away. Stupid.

I suggest you do just spend more time with his family. I know it totally sucks but suck it up and have the most fun you can and be as pleasant and outgoing as possible around them. Even if they don't take notice, Wesley will, and it will mean a lot to him. If you feel like you can't stand sacrificing your dignity, just do what I do and think of it as a master plan. If you know you are being fake for a personal reason (at least in the beginning), you won't feel as indignant about it.

Your computer sounds sneaky; changing the time behind your back! ;)

I hope things work out with your boyfriend's family (:

Deanna - 10.30.07 @ 7:07 pm (10 months, 1 week ago)

Aww. Why did you have to get rid of your nose ring? I always wanted to get one but am too much of a chicken. I am afraid of it getting infected.

That's weird that the computer changed the time. I wonder why it would do that. I thought they automatically knew what the time was? At least you got some extra money!

I know how you feel about your b/f's family. My boyfriend tells me sometimes some of the things his mom and sister say about me. But they always seem to like me in person so I don't really get it why they say stuff like that. But it does make sense because I don't really let them know a whole lot about me or my life so they have to make assumptions about me based on what I let them see, which isn't much.

I've thought about getting a nose ring myself, but people advised me against it. You should buy some Mederma when your scar has reached a good healing stage, that way it will heal better.

I have yet to see Wicked Little Things, although, it's been on my movies to watch list. I have't heard of Toolbox, though. I guess work consumes me so much that I often don't have time to even watch trailers and such.

Now that you mention the clock thing, for some odd reason, the clocks on all of the computers in my home change often for no apparent reason. I usually have to keep checking my alarm clock to make sure that my computer clock is updated.

That situation with your boyfriend seems to happen to a lot of people. I can understand why you wouldn't want to spend more time with them. I've been in a situation like that and being around the family members made me completely uncomfortable.

Don't let what his dad says get you down. When Todd and I started dating, his parents forbid him from seeing me, because they thought he needed to focus on school and not have a girlfriend at the time. We continued to see each other and eventually, his parents fell in love with me! Just try and involve yourself with his family (like dinner) and show them WHO you are. You're a wonderful girlfriend and person (from what I've read), so don't give up :) They have to love you.

My piercing closed in less than a week! Crazy isn't it?

I wish my clock would do that at work haha :)

That whole turning back the clock thing is confusing. Here in Queensland, Australia they decided not to do it and the rest of the country does. How annoying is that?

Cynthia - 10.30.07 @ 11:39 pm (10 months, 1 week ago)

Eee, that's weird. Fall Back is actually on November 4th this year.

Danette - 10.30.07 @ 11:42 pm (10 months, 1 week ago)

Wow, really horrible his dad would say that to him about you! I know I'd be worried and shook up if that happened to me - though I haven't been lucky enough to have a long-term relationship where I get to the parents-meeting stage. I know it makes you want to minimize your time around them, but that will only damage your relationship, plus give his dad an excuse to say, "See? I told you you don't need a girlfriend right now." Just give it some time, they'll warm up to you soon! :)
