Throughout a lifetime, most of us watch tons of movies. Out of all the movies, we have few characters who stick out in our minds. Here are some of my most memorable (in no particular order).
Stifler (American Pie)
The Stiffmeister! He thinks he is cooler than everyone because he throws parties and is all about getting laid. He is hilarious and totally makes the American Pie movies! I love his reactions to accidentally swallowing semen and getting peed on.
"Suck me, beautiful!"
Austin Powers (Austin Powers series)
Austin is an incredibly geeky yet groovy character with bad teeth. You can't help but love him and his outrageous chest hair.
"Name? Austin Danger Powers. Sex? Yes, please!"
Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean series)
Johnny Depp is really talented. He has so many diverse roles. Captain Jack Sparrow is one that stands out most. I love that he's not so serious. Jack has a lot of wit.
"But why is the rum gone?"
Harry Potter (Harry Potter series)
Even if it wasn't so popular, who can forget the glasses and that scar? Not to mention that Harry has some sex appeal going on when he's using magic.
"Excuse me sir, can you tell me where I might find Platform Nine and Three-Quarters?"
Hessian/Headless Horseman (Sleepy Hollow)
I've always been particularly fond of Sleepy Hollow. I find the headless horseman quite intriguing. I love how he rides that black horse and kind of pops out of nowhere. I really love how he looks when it shows a flashback scene to him still being alive. I think he's pretty creepy.
"It was a horseman. A dead one. Headless."
Wicked Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz)
I would watch the Wizard of Oz as a kid, mainly for the Wicked Witch. She is my favorite character from the movie.
"I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too."
Sidney Prescott (Scream)
The Scream trilogy is amongst some of my favorite movies. Sidney Prescott is a horror movie character that really stands out to me the most. She is so vulnerable due to her mother's death, yet she's very strong at the same time.
"You sick fucks. You've seen one too many movies!"
Edward (Edward Scissorhands)
Edward is a very abnormal looking man who has scissors for hands. I've always liked this character because he was very unique. It just saddens me to see how lonely he must be. One of my favorite scenes is when Edward accidentally pokes the water bed with one of his scissors and it starts shooting out.
"And then she showed me the back room where she took all of her clothes off."
Captain Spaulding (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects)
All of the characters from House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects are interesting, in my opinion, but Captain Spaulding stands out the most. He's always got great dialogue, and he's a clown.
"You best come up with an answer 'cause I'm gonna come back here and check on you and your mama, and if you ain't got a reason why you hate clowns, I'm gonna kill your whole fucking family."
Tiffany (Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky)
Psychotic? Obviously. And she's hot at the same time. That's why I love Tiffany so much. You can't forget her precious voice, Chucky tattoo, and quotes from her mother.
"Hi, my name is Tiffany Ray. Um, you don't know me, but a few years ago I killed your husband, and I am so sorry."
John Bender (The Breakfast Club)
Bender is the "badass" of the group, and he acts pretty hostile. On the inside, he's really hurting over abuse at home. He is definitely the most memorable of the "breakfast club" group due to his attitude.
"Eat my shorts!"
Gracie Hart (Miss Congeniality)
Raggedy secret agent turned into beauty queen. I love how tough she is, but at the same time she's funny and dorky. Her snort is very memorable.
"I am in a dress, I have gel in my hair, I haven't slept all night, I'm starved, and I'm armed! Don't mess with me!"
Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)
Elle starts out as the stereotypical blonde bimbo. She ends up going to law school where she works very hard. I love how she totally proved everyone wrong and ended up graduating Harvard Law as Valedictorian. This character proves that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it.
"Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed."
Regina George (Mean Girls)
From the moment I saw the trailer for this movie, Regina stood out to me the most. She is the "Queen Bee" of the school and is mean to pretty much everyone.
"Boo, you whore."
Stanley (Cabin by the Lake)
Stanley is a screenwriter who appears to be a friendly guy and hangs out with the locals. What they don't know is that he gets his screenplay ideas from murdering people and then writing about it. I think what is so creepy about him is that he appears to be normal, but he's really a crazed killer. He uses some torturous methods, such as drowning, and being buried alive.
"They don't make good movies anymore."

STIFLER! He is my favorite
Him and Regina George! I actually named my ginny (sp?) pig after Stifler
Hello BEST. IDEA. FOR. A. BLOG. ENTRY. EVER! Heh. Do you mind if I borrow the idea because I fail at coming up with my own ideas?
Everytime I watch a Chucky movie featuring Tiffany, I always wonder why Jennifer Tilly isn't an A-List actress. I love her.
I also love basically every character listed here. Except maybe the Wicked Witch Of The West. She reminds me of an old teacher of mine. *shudders*
You have inspired me to download (ahem, i mean buy) a few of these movies now. I LOVE THIS ENTRY BTW! Stifler = AHSUM, Harry potter is just amazing as always (although my mind is scarred from seeing him nude), The Wicked Witch did an amazing job in Wizard of Oz, Tiffany did really do a great job in the Chucky movies, I LOVE reese witherspoon so great choice there as well. I can't disagree with any of your choices, a couple of these I haven't seen though.
Definitely some great picks. I found myself going through them and thinking "Yeah, I love that character!" and it happened quite a few times. I love the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz, she's my favorite character too…Always has been. I also love John Bender, no matter how old that movie gets he is still completely bad ass.
I'm with Holly; I was saying "Yeah, I love that character!" a lot, too! You have great taste!
Oh, and Johnny Depp seems to almost always make an awesome character. Especially Edward (my favorite scene is the water bed leak too!) and Jack Sparrow.
This is a fun entry. I love Elle Woods even though I can absolutely not see something like happening in real life. Jack Sparrow is also an awesome character but the Wicked Witch of the West… I don't know. She was definitely cool, but as a kid she was a little too wicked for me. I was a Glenda fan.
ah britney, ab fab job. The headless horseman, ah I adore sleepy hollow and I do reckon it's one of my all time fav movies. I also enjoy Penny Lane in Almost Famous and Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones's Diary.
That's a great list! I love how you described each character. I like Jack Sparrow because he's funny and he always (or well, usually) manages to get things done. And although he's pretty selfish I think he's a pirate with a good heart
I also love Elle Woods. I haven't seen Legally Blonde for ages though! And I'm not even sure if I've seen Legally Blonde 2… I think I have o.O
Captain Spaulding and Regina George for life!! Rob Zombie's movies really are like none other! Great choices here!
Interesting choice of characters! I agree some of them do stick out even after we watch movies and whether we do like the movies themselves or not. I haven't seen too many of the movies listed - I guess Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter were the big ones considering the fame and popularity of the two. Elle Woods definitely sticks out… but I think it had to do with Reese Witherspoon too… she's a fine actress.
Hehe The Stiffmeister is GREAT. He totally makes the American Pie movies: without him, they would not be half as wonderful. Secondly, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow rocks my socks. "Four of you tried to kill me. One of you succeeded." "Is there anyone who wanted me back because they missed me?" and my all-time favourite "But why is the rum gone?" will never slip out of my mind.
Great post, hilarious thinking back about those funny one-liners and those movie characters one will never forget.
Lol… unfortunately, stiffler is totally not one of my favorite… though I must say Gracie Hart and Regina George are my favorites!!
You've watched so many movies!! Heheh I only got a good memory to remember what happens through a movie… but characters, I'm the worst for it!
What an interesting list and I agree with some of them!
I love Sandra Bullock in that movie. Such a classic. Great list.
OMG! This list was amazing from the beginning, but got intensely better when I saw Captain Spaulding.
Awesome, awesome list.
I have to agree with you on all of these movie characters. They're simply amazing, especially Stifler, Regina George, Elle Woods and Harry Potter!
This post is pretty awesome I love the little pictures you have since I'm terrible with names. Lol even though some of those movies weren't my fav I do admit those characters were great in them. When i first saw Pirates, I loved Cap'n Sparrow because I totally didnt expect his character to be like that.
OMG you are a horror movie fan aren't you!
well, I love Elle and Gracie Hart and Regina. They're all great characters!
=]
memorable characters? uhmmm lemme think the top 5 of mine:
1. definetly Harry potter!
2. Legolas from LOTR
3. Edward Scissorhands ( who can forget him?)
4. Elle Woods (yup, shes damn memorable) ![]()
5. Jack sparrow (my man!)
this is a really interesting blog Britney
Haha, I certainly think that a lot of those who you mentioned are really memorable characters - I'm a bit fan of Harry Potter and Elle Woods, but those like Gracie Hart and Regina George also stick out in my mind.
Awww, Elle Woods. I loved that movie. I love it even more how the message is exactly what I believe it (kicking ass and looking fabulous while doing it) and how her name is so close to mine - Chanel Wood, Elle Woods? CONSPIRACY.
Regina George and Jack Sparrow are also awesome characters in memorable movies.
You've picked out some awesome characters, some are my favorites too: Edward Scissorhands, The Headless Horseman, Harry Potter, Bender…I love those movies. I want to watch them again now, lol. I love Jack Sparrow too, but I don't think that it's Johnny's BEST character, it's probably just his "best known" character. I think he's really great in Benny and Joon, Chocolat, and Secret Window.
This was a very interesting idea! The only one that has really made an impact on me out of all of those, would be Regina George. I don't know if it was in a positive way, as she's pretty… horrible, but she's definitely a very interesting character and Rachel McAdams was the star of Mean Girls. She did a wonderful job!
Even though I dont agree with most of these (actually only Jack Sparrow) I really think this is a brilliant idea for a blog entry!
Unique blog. I saw the stage musical of Legally Blonde last year, and there is no one that can portray Elle Woods better than Reese Witherspoon.
Cool blog!!! Oh I absolutely love Jack Sparrow!! And Harry Potter. I haven't seen most of those movies in a long time, I love Legally Blonde and Miss Congeniality too ![]()
OMG I still haven't seen Mean Girls yet lol.. must go see it..soon!
Love most of those characters! Great blog post, girl!
You know what's sad? I've never seen any of the American Pie movies lol. I'll prob watch them online one day. This was a cool post and pretty spiffy idea!
I haven't been here in ages, and it's good to see you're still blogging!
That was an awesome blog haha. Nice choice of characters. Regina George, Elle Woods and Harry Potter (ofc) stand out to me the most :]
xx
I think you've got a pretty memorable list there. I haven't seen 5 of the movies though but know exactly who the characters are. XD
I hope you don't mind me borrowing your idea for a blog:) I think this was a great idea:) I like alot of the same as you:)
This is a really great idea Brit, I really enjoyed reading your memorable characters! I actually may have to steal this idea for an entry on my blog some day haha
I have quite a few in common, gotta love Harry! haha..Gracie Hart is memorable too..I only didn't know a few listed there.
