I think I may have made a new friend. I am so excited. If you've been reading my blog, you will know that I never get to hang out with friends anymore. We've all just kind of drifted apart. I have been wanting to make new friends, but didn't know how or where. Work was the last place I expected to meet a friend, but that's where I met her.
Her name is Ashleigh, and she's only worked there a few days so far. I recognized her from myspace because she is best friends with one of my old friends. She came into work yesterday looking for a seat. The one next to me was empty so I told her she could sit there. Almost immediately, she started talking to me. She asked me how long I worked there and if I liked it and all that. Then she was telling me about how she used to be a party girl. Since having her 8-month old son, she's changed a lot and likes to just sit around and chill. I told her I was the same way. I used to like getting drunk every weekend, but now I don't like to drink as much. So we seem to have some stuff in common, which rocks. Usually I am extremely shy around new people, but I felt comfortable around her. We talked and giggled as if we had been friends for a while.
It was funny when we were making fun of people's names. We work in data entry, so we type stuff off of pieces of mail, which has a person's name and address on it. Well I came across someone named "Mary Ferry" and she found someone with the last name of "Slutsky" haha. It was so funny. We got in trouble for talking though. Oh well, it was worth it.
The only problem is that neither of us have cars, so that might be a problem if we want to hang out. I'm also a little concerned that she has a baby, because she probably doesn't get the freedom she used to have. I'm not that worried about it though. A friend is a friend.

Awww, must be awesome having a new friend! She sounds really nice, hope you're able to hang out. The best things that happen are totally unexpected, just like this was
Thats great that you met someone at work! Even though she may have a kid she could bring him along sometimes. Either way like you said a friend is a friend. Its great you guys have stuff in common too.
That's really nice that you meant someone, it's always fun.
One of my older friends has a son, and it actually sometimes makes hanging out more fun. Haha.
Making new friends is awesome.
I need to make some around here too. =/
She sounds awesome! LMAO I'd have laughed at someone whose surname was Slutsky too!
aw, that's really cool that you met someone new.
it's funny, i've grown up in the town i live in almost my whole life. and it's not very big. i know a lot of people here but i really don't have any friends. all my friends and i lost touch pretty much immediately after high school. so i don't hang out with anyone. :/ i'd like to meet new people or at least rekindle old friendships but i'm really shy and i almost prefer spending time alone so… i dunno.
i used to always laugh at people's names when i worked at this restaurant i used to work at (and am actually going to work at again, i think. lol.) i'd see their names on their credit card receipts or when i'd ask for identification because they didn't have a signature on the back of their card. there was one, 'richard morehead' lol. stuff like that makes me giggle.
Aww!
I am so haooy for you!
Yay a nbew friend and you seem to have a lot in common!!!
That is really great, Britney
Maybe this will help you from being too dependent on Wesley for happiness, like you mentioned earlier. I really hope you two are able to get closer as time goes by
Unfortunately, the whole car situation does cause a problem :/
That's awesome! Most of my friends drifted away too, so until recently, I haven't really had anyone to hang out with. I wouldn't worry about her being a mom, though. Two of my closest friends are mothers and we're still great friends anyway. The only thing is that sometimes they have to bring their kids along when we hang out (if they aren't in daycare or something, I mean), but it's not that bad. Sometimes it's annoying if the kids start to fuss and cry, but otherwise, the fact that they're mothers doesn't make much of a difference. Both of my mom-friends have great kids, so I love spending time with them, too. Like you said, a friend is a friend, so even though she has a baby, she can still become a good friend of yours.
