The party scene

I used to love partying, but now the party scene just does not appeal to me. Wesley's sister is a bit of a party animal, and she wanted us to go to a party last night. I agreed to go because I figured Wesley wanted to, and I thought I could use a night out. However, just as I expected, I left feeling quite irritated.

It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, but it was still pretty rowdy. People were playing beer pong, wrestling around on the floor, etc. I felt like I was in a game of dodgeball as I was trying not to get hit with flying balls, elbows, feet, and you name it. Some friends of mine from high school were there, but they barely even talked to me. In fact, hardly anyone talked to me. I felt really left out and I hate that feeling.

Everyone was drinking and a few people were drunk. My "friends" kept singing and all I wanted was them to shut up. I asked them to stop, and what do you know, they sing even louder. Lots of sexual talk was occurring, which I really didn't feel like hearing. I don't care who you want to have sex with or if you have blue balls. Keep that shit to yourself.

I have a bit of an anger problem, so when I get irritated I tend to want to tell someone off. I knew it would just make me look like an idiot, so I kept to myself. I asked one of the girls if she was having fun, and I told her I personally thought most of the behavior happening was pretty pathetic. Usually I'm not very outspoken, so I was surprised when I said that. I told her there is nothing fun about puking and being sexually assaulted, which are two things that have happened to me when I used to get very drunk. You know what she did? She busted out laughing. I couldn't believe it!

I was relieved when Wesley was ready to go. The only reason I went was for him, but I had a horrible time. I doubt I'll be going back. I will just stick to the people I'm close to and feel comfortable with.

I really wish your security thing was ABOVE the submit button, 'cause I just typed a lot and lost it. :(

I am outspoken so I don't mind telling people off etc. if people are being dumb. I used to love big parties that weren't my responsibility though. I've hosted a lot at my apartments and controlling the situation is usually no fun. At other people's places I am respectful, but I don't have to worry about other people's behavior, which is nice.

Now I just get a drink at restaurants now and then or sit at my computer with a (bitch) beer while hanging out with the boyfriend, and I love it.

I'm only 22, and I'm already sick and tired of rowdy partying. I was never one to go out much, but when I moved out to the college dorms I felt like I had missed out on so much, so I partied every single day! It was insane! Nowadays, I prefer going out with a couple of friends and just chill. I still like to drink occasionally, but on a more relaxed setting. Ah, how the times change :)

"I still like to drink occasionally, but on a more relaxed setting."

That's exactly what I mean. I'm the same way, and it's so much better.

Christina - No, you weren't. I had fun and wish I could have stayed longer.

The party scene has never appealed to me, and I'm only fourteen so I'm going to face a lot of that stuff in highschool next year. I don't get what's so fun about it really. I'd rather read and eat some pie, well why thank you. :)

I'm the same. When I'm angry I will tell someone off, as opposed to staying quiet.

Ah… maybe going to a high school that was so elite that no one has time to party has its benefits. Back then, we preferred "study groups" instead haha.

Glad you got out of there okay =D

I like quiet parties, without alcohol thnx. Of course, I'm not of legal drinking age, but many people my age get piss drunk on the weekends and then post pictures of them, drunk of course, on Facebook. *shakes head sadly*

I can't see myself at a party like that. I have a short fuse around people with loss of or no common sense at all.

I'm with all of you - people partying like that, getting stupid drunk and doing stuff they never remember (and therefore, never admit to) is obnoxious and disgusting. I call it "sightless eyes". They're trashed, they start a conversation with you, and in the middle of the second sentence they change the subject… and they're the ones who started the thought. When they look at you, it looks like they're focusing on something 50 feet past you… so you know you're not getting through. And if they're a rowdy drunk, the minute they think you disagree with them, they're ready to throw
