Think Green
Posted on: May 08, 2008 at 2:22 am (4 months ago)

No one really seems to be interested in the fashion contest. *tear* So what I think I am going to do is turn it into a meme type thing. About once a week I will post a theme and an outfit that goes to that theme. Then anyone who wants to participate can do the same, and post their outfit on their blog. The first theme is Think Green. If you participate, comment with the link to that blog entry so that myself and others can check out your awesome outfit. Here is my Think Green outfit:

I was really interested in your fashion contest, I even had it on my "todo list", but you gave way too less time :( If you'd do that and give about a week time, I'd participapte :)

I know dick about fashion, but isn't wearing two loose flowy items together a big no no? I always thought that if you are wearing a loose top, you need to team it with jeans or tight pants and if you're wearing a flowy skirt, you need to pair it up with a tight top… otherwise you end up looking like a freakish hippy.

But then again, wtf do I know? I wear metal band shirts day in and day out and don't really care if it looks good! Hehe.

I was actually interested in your fashion contest. I was really putting effort into everything since I wanted my outfit to be purr-fect. Unfortunately, you put it down so :( I guess I could just do this. :D

I love your combination. I might participate! I wish I am not busy! anyway, it's true. no one is interested with fashion contests. pfft.

i am holding a contest right now actually on my blog but no one seems to participate. lol.

:D

So… I'm confused+dumb so here's a question… Is it supposed to be organic natural stuff like J did, or green colors?

I like the scarve and bag the most. The shirt looks like a dress.

I posted three in response to your original entry, but here is my "Think Green" one again if you missed it:

Good job of matching the greens. I scrapped one of my women's outfits when I couldn't find matching items to complete it. I don't think the outfit would be too loose. The top has an empire waist and below that needs to be wider to cover the hips. I think the skirt looks looser than it actually would be because the pictures aren't the same scale. This would be a good choice for someone slim… has several horizontal features and the empire waist would help define their figure. I like it. :)

I remember seeing a lot of those outfit combos in magazines. I like the idea; maybe I"ll put a few things together like that. I really like that bag. =P

Clem - 05.08.08 @ 4:51 pm (4 months ago)

I would do it but I don't think I can top yours. The bag is great! (BTW, please increase the text size for your textarea?)

Amy - 05.08.08 @ 6:52 pm (4 months ago)

I agree with Nellie. Two flowy items aren't supposed to be paired, it makes a person look bigger and sloppier than they are. I do like everything else though. The skirt is really cute

J - 05.08.08 @ 7:35 pm (4 months ago)

I'm so stoked to do this as a meme every week or so!

I did mine green figuratively and literally. :)

I think the top and bottom work fine together, especially because I know what youl ook like and you aren't big or sloppy. :) On you this outfit would remind me of the Olsen twins' over-sized fashion.

Britney - 05.08.08 @ 10:51 pm (4 months ago)

LOL @ the "they shouldn't be paired together" comments. Do I look like someone that follows a certain "rule"? No, I do what I want.

Nellie - 05.09.08 @ 12:00 am (4 months ago)

LOL @ you for being so bitchy with your reply.

No one was saying that you couldn't do what you want. I was asking if that WAS a rule, because I didn't know.

Good luck with the whole looking like a fat hippie thing.

Britney - 05.09.08 @ 12:08 am (4 months ago)

Nellie, please. I was not being bitchy. All I was saying was that I don't like following rules. Also, considering I am quite petite, I doubt that outfit would make me look "fat". I still don't get the problem with looking like a hippie? I see nothing wrong with their style.

Nellie - 05.09.08 @ 12:25 am (4 months ago)

Yet you continue to phrase yourself in a bitchy and condescending way.

Good luck with trying to convince me that you really WEREN'T being a bitch.

Britney - 05.09.08 @ 12:31 am (4 months ago)

If stating that it's hard to look fat when you are a petite person is being bitchy, then okay.

J - 05.09.08 @ 1:13 am (4 months ago)

Pretty sure Nellie will do a better job of looking like a fat hippie in her band tees than your cute size 0 ass will in anything you wear.

IMO, it comes down to intent. You posted a positive blog with a look you like, and haterz gotta hate with their style rules and criticisms.

Paula - 05.09.08 @ 3:23 am (4 months ago)

You know what? I like that outfit a lot. And if you want to wear two flowy items together because you like them, you can wear them and people can say whatever they want.

I can see that your comment could have been taken like you were being rude but all this drama is unnecesary.

Hannah - 05.09.08 @ 7:32 am (4 months ago)

I like the hippie look. Though, if I were to wear this, I'd ditch the sash and wear some cute black flats. (http://tinyurl.com/58rmfr)
