Just recently, I was looking at the myspace pictures of a girl I used to go to school with. The pictures were of her and her friends from this past weekend, apparently. Almost all of the pictures had them in some sort of drunken manner. I know you only live once, and it's fun to let loose once in a while. However, there is a fine line between having fun and looking like complete trash. I wish I could post the photos here to show you exactly what I'm talking about, but I have enough decency for these girls not to. I will say, however, that taking photos of you peeing, grabbing your boobs and/or someone else's, laying on the concrete with a cigarette in one hand, mouth hanging open, and eyes closed is not attractive to say the least. Oh, and I almost forgot the 50,000 pictures taken while holding a Captain Morgan bottle. There was even a picture of one of the girls licking the top of the bottle as if she were sucking it off or something.
I just don't get it. Do these girls think that is cool? It's really not. I once lived that same lifestyle, or one very close to it. I once took stupid trashy looking pictures too. I once smoked nasty ass cigarettes. I once got drunk every weekend. The difference between us is that I don't do it anymore. Sure, I still drink at times, but I don't get wasted. I also don't do it every weekend, or take pictures of myself on a toilet. I'm better than that.

Ergh, that's such a trashy thing to do! I wonder if those girls are aware that photos they post online are able to be traced by their employers etc!
I have to agree with you… I don't understand those girls either. It's soo embarassing and such a disgrace. Why the hell would you be proud of those pictures? They obviously don't know that people would be laughing AT them.. not WITH them. Amateurs. Psh.
It's funny what some people think is cool and sexy. I guess we all have our own views but it's silly that some girls have to degrade themselves for a bit of attention.
One thing is getting drunk all the time (that is trashy by the way), and a different (and even worse) thing is taking pictures and publishing them as if one were proud of it. It still don't get where they see the "sexy" part of getting shitdrunk :S
I see these sort of pictures of people I know all the time, because they post them on Facebook. I don't understand why they would think it's attractive for others to see them completely drunk.
Maybe it is just a stage they are going through, maybe later on in life they will look back at those pictures and think "oh my gosh, what was i thinking?"
or maybe not
some people are just "unique" LOL
To be honest, that was the reason for why I stopped visiting your website some while ago, a couple of months. Nobody was forcing me to read things I didn't like so I stopped. BUT, I decided to look over here once more and see whether you got all worse than where you were previously or whether you got amazingly better back again, like you used to be two years ago. I'm really relieved and glad to see you're getting on a good way and your life is so much greater than that.
You know what's even more stunning? To see you posting that blog. Perhaps someone like that girl comes here, reads it and thinks triply over her life. Maybe that teaches her something. Maybe not.
Well, I'm going to visit more often. I'm really surprised and full of positive thoughts.
Take care!
PS. You're still a cute girl, just like I remember you.
Peeing pictures? lol I've had a few drunken snap shots taken of me, but it hasn't happened in awhile…I'd rather look nice in pictures instead of looking high as a kite.
I don't like to get totally trashed anymore, I hate getting sick!
I wonder if they think it's funny to even look at themselves like that. =/
I totally get what you mean.
I'm only 15 (turning 16 soon) and I'm an incoming sophomore. I have girls in my grade that already smoke (in our society, that is a shocker). They party with the upperclassmen–sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I do too, but not as much as they do. Most of the people in our grade aren't even into partying yet! And these girls that I talk about are already getting wasted like every night they're out, they wear all these skimpy dresses that, sure, are attractive but are obviously not for their age. They look hot but when you really think about it, they're like trash. These group of girls are also the non-virgins in our grade. Yes, the only ones in our batch who lost their virginity already. A lot of people wonder if that's why they stick together. They're all new this freshman year too. Imagine that.
Sigh, how times have changed.
There are far too many girls like that, and I just think it gives girls a bad name.. We spent forever trying to win our rights, and now they're basically shot. Ehh.
There was a guy at my school who threw a "lingerie party" and a whole bunch of girls went and took pictures and put them on Facebook. Thankfully, they're gone now, but seriously!? Must you be strippers/hookers?
Now I bet, most of these chicks will look back at their pictures in years to come, regret it, and feel ashamed.
I'm 27, and people I grew up with are STILL acting like that! I'd say about 10 people on my friends list, who I know, post those kinds of pictures. I could never act that way, not even when I was younger, and thought it was 'cool' to drink at 16/17.
I don't go out that much anymore, and I never drink at home. But when I do go out with my friends, we drink in between socializing and dancing, not to get stupid. One of my best friends recently posted a picture with about 7 other girls in it. A few were tipping their drinks, while everyone else was grabbing one girls boobs, and making sexual gestures with their hands. It's shameful.
Oh I know exactly the type of people you mean. It seems to be the only 'interesting' (if you can call it that) thing that they have to photograph or talk about. I often overhear them boasting about being "SOOO drunk last night" and then sharing all the details that nobody really wants to know. So irritating, and gross.
Not to mention it is illegal for them to even drink in the first place, assuming they are under 21 and don't each have their parents with them while they are drinking. Drinking between 18 and 21 can get very expensive, since as an "adult" you can be fined for possession, your own drinking, plus with supplying your friends with drinks. I'm glad you've made the changes you have.
Yeah, nah, that ain't cool at all. And yep, I do think that they think it is cool, like everyone will like them cause they get smashed and make a fool out of themselves every weekend. I think everyone has 'those type' at their school. I know I definitely did. Even now out of school they're still doing, wasting their lives to binge drinking. And that what they're doing. One of the girls actually has a big liver problem and has to take medication daily for it, but still on her MSN name is 'Drink Til Ya Drop', no joke. It's sad really.
